Job Description: Chemistry Technician

Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Lab Operations Technician to join our chemistry laboratory team. In this role, you will support the operation of customer-facing automated synthesis workstations. You will be responsible for preparing stock solutions, maintaining the instruments, running quality control procedures and maintaining the chemical inventory. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Operate and maintain automated chemical synthesis platforms according to established protocols from internal scientists and external customers. 
  • Accurately weigh, measure, and prepare chemical solutions for use in automated workflows. 
  • Follow detailed experimental protocols, ensuring reproducibility, accuracy, and adherence to quality standards. 
  • Maintain detailed records of experiments, system performance, and sample tracking. 
  • Ensure all lab operations comply with safety protocols and standard operating procedures. 
  • Support lab maintenance activities including inventory management, waste management, equipment calibration, and workspace cleanliness. 
  • Collaborate effectively with chemistry and engineering teams to troubleshoot processes and suggest improvements to automation workflows. 

Qualifications: 

  • Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, or a related field. 
  • 1–2 years of experience working in a chemistry laboratory. 
  • Comfortable working with machines and able to assemble and disassemble custom hardware parts. 
  • Strong understanding of laboratory safety practices and procedures. 
  • Hands-on experience with common chemistry lab techniques, including solution preparation, weighing, and purification methods. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience working with or programming chemical automation systems. 
  • Experience with engineering or robotics.
